Our guide will introduce you to the family in the village and act as translator. After the custom introduction you can interact with the family and photography is allowed. The Himba is one of the last nomadic nations in Africa still following traditions in daily life and worship.
These Himba villages are homesteads and not staged for the purpose of tourism.
Depending on your interest, we can also visit a traditional Himba graveyard and the local primary school.
Our rate per person includes the guide, transport, payment towards the Himba village and soft drinks.
Compensation for the Himba family is by means of food supplies instead of cash.
Epupa is situated ± 180 km from Opuwo, the closest town, and thus very difficult to obtain food supplies.
